Why Affiliate?

Institute affiliation is open to members from industry and government agencies. Affiliation benefits include early access to research innovations, twice-yearly meetings on a university campus, opportunities to interact with faculty, students, and industry peers. Other highlights include:

  • Access to students trained in industry and government relevant research challenges
  • Small overheads make industry contributions go further
  • Industry members sit on Industrial Advisory Board so have a voice in research direction and long-term strategy

DSI was formed in early 2007 after receiving the distinctive NSF I/UCRC planning grant award. The NSF I/UCRC program funds unique centers of expertise in computer science and engineering. The centers all follow a similar business model so affiliates can benefit from the expertise in other centers as appropriate.
